Letter: Too hot at Crystal Lake post office

To the Editor:

I am writing because my husband has worked at the Crystal Lake post office for 41 years, and the working conditions are becoming less than desirable.

The Crystal Lake post office has not fixed its broken air-conditioning unit for two years, and employees are forced to work in a building that gets extremely hot and uncomfortable. It also has discontinued providing the employees with toilet paper, paper towels and soap in the employee washroom. It just doesn’t care about its employees anymore, and is too cheap to provide healthy working conditions.

My husband said the joke going around the post office these days is – “Is it hotter in hell or at the post office?” and the reply by the employees is, “The post office!”
