After Hernandez fled, agencies – including the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Linn Police Department and Wisconsin conservation police – searched, deploying multiple K-9's, drones and a helicopter in the area of Hebron Road and the Illinois-Wisconsin border.
If convicted, Hernandez could face up to 30 years in prison, and his bond is set at $250,000. He is being held at the Story County Jail in Iowa.
“We expect to see this man face his charges here in the county once the extradition process has concluded,” said McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim in a statement. “We have been at great pains to locate him since the incident occurred.”
