WONDER LAKE – A 32-year-old woman stabbed her husband in the arm after a fight Sunday night in Wonder Lake, police said.
Heather D. Bradigan was charged with domestic battery after police said she used a kitchen knife to stab her 36-year-old husband in the left arm near his elbow after an argument, according to court documents and a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the stabbing at 9:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of Maple Drive, Wonder Lake, police said.
Bradigan left before police arrived, police said. Her husband was taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry with minor injuries and was in stable condition.
Wonder Lake police and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched the area and found Bradigan at 9:55 p.m. in the 7400 block of Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake.
Bradigan also was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated battery of a peace officer. She spit and kicked a deputy in the leg while he was trying to arrest her, police said.
Bradigan previously was found guilty of domestic battery after she punched and scratched her husband in the face, resulting in a scratch mark under his left eye and an abrasion with scratch marks on the left side of his head on March 7, 2016, court documents show.
She was put on supervision and ordered to get alcohol treatment and evaluation at the time, court documents show.
Bradigan could face up to seven years in prison and is due back in court Nov. 1.
