FOX RIVER GROVE – One person was hospitalized after a crash Monday afternoon in Fox River Grove.
Fox River Grove police and firefighters responded about 3:10 p.m. Monday to Route 22 and Gardner Road for a report of a two-vehicle crash, Fox River Grove Fire Chief Robert Kreher said.
One vehicle had rear-ended the other, causing the driver of the car that was hit to be taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Fox River Grove Police Chief Eric Waitrovich said. Waitrovich said the injuries the person suffered were not life-threatening. He did not know any identifying details of the individual.
The driver who struck the other vehicle was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, Waitrovich said. Waitrovich said he also did not have any information on the man who was cited.
Eastbound Route 22 was blocked for 15 to 20 minutes after the crash, and both cars were towed from the scene.
