Cary police announced Wednesday that the railroad crossing at Three Oaks Road and Route 14 will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday and will remain closed until about 5 p.m. Friday.
Union Pacific Railroad workers will be repairing the railroad track at the grade crossing, which requires the grade crossing to be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Detours around the work site will be identified and posted with appropriate signage. Local traffic will not be affected by the closure, other than the need to find an alternate route through the area, department officials said.
All traffic other than local traffic should avoid Three Oaks Road between Sands Road/Lutter Drive and Route 14.
