Police seek assistance in identifying suspect in Marengo home burglaries

Items forcibly stolen from 2 homes in Deerpass subdivision

MARENGO – Marengo police are investigating a pair of residential burglaries that occurred Wednesday morning on the northeast side of the city.

Two homes were forcibly broken into, and several items were stolen Wednesday afternoon in Marengo’s Deerpass subdivision, Marengo police Sgt. Shaun Boeckh said.

Boeckh said he could not provide more specific details because of the ongoing investigation. There are no suspects, and anyone with information should call Detective Andrew Taylor at 815-568-7231.

There is no existing threat to that part of town, Boeckh said.
