CRYSTAL LAKE – A 24-year-old Crystal Lake man who was released from the McHenry County Jail on Nov. 3 is due back in court Tuesday on home invasion charges.

A grand jury on Thursday approved felony charges against Jesus Contreras, of the 100 block of Surrey Lane.

Contreras is charged with home invasion, criminal trespass to residence, domestic battery, interference with the reporting of domestic violence, criminal damage to property and battery.

Contreras posted 10 percent of his reduced bond Nov. 3 and was released from the McHenry County Jail, where he had been in custody since Oct. 25, records show.

Crystal Lake police were not immediately available to comment on details surrounding Contreras’ charges.

He is due back in court Tuesday, when a judge will officially read Contreras the charges against him.
