Letter: St. Margaret Mary School honors veterans

To the Editor:

On Nov. 7, at St. Margaret Mary School in Algonquin, the students gathered for a very respectful day for the veterans.

The eighth-grade students greeted the veterans and escorted them into the assembly.

Each veteran had their own personal history read by an eighth-grader, many of the eighth-graders read their own personal poems and feelings toward the veterans.

The eighth-grade teachers, Mrs. Ferguson and Mrs. Peterson, have done an awesome job teaching these students the importance of Veterans Day.

Each veteran was given a personalized poster from the kindergarten students, under the assistance of their teacher, Mrs. Benner.

The parents of the students at St. Margaret Mary School should be very proud of their children’s teachers.

The Veterans Day gathering demonstrates the fact that St. Margaret Mary School is an ideal place to be educated.
