Man flown to hospital after crashing truck into tree in Spring Grove

SPRING GROVE – A man was flown to a hospital with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after he crashed his truck into a tree, authorities said.

The Spring Grove Fire Protection District responded to a crash at 2:21 p.m. at 121 Main St., Spring Grove, where a man driving a truck crashed into a tree, Battalion Chief Julie Tobiasz said.

The crash trapped the man inside the truck, prompting firefighters to cut open the vehicle, Tobiasz said.

A Flight for Life helicopter landed behind The Liquor Hole, 7237 State Park Road, and took the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Fox Lake fire crews also responded.

Tobiasz did not share the man’s name, age or residence. She said he suffered serious injuries.
