High school wrestling roundup: McHenry's Cagle breaks tie in FVC win over Cary-Grove; Prairie Ridge, Crystal Lake Central also win

McHenry's Geoff Cagle won at 285 pounds with a pin in 1:52 to break a 36-all tie Thursday and lead the Warriors to a 42-36 Fox Valley Conference dual victory against Cary-Grove in McHenry.

McHenry (1-4, 1-0 FVC) also picked up pins from Tyler Lowrey (138 pounds) and Jake Leske (182) in the team's first win of the season.

For the Trojans, Colin Suyko (113), Jakob Immer (120), Adam Pinter (132), Isaac Rands (160) and Cadin Koeppel (220) all recorded pins and Brad Peters (152) and Mitchel Dec (170) both won by decision.

Prairie Ridge 42, Hampshire 27: At Crystal Lake, the Wolves earned the FVC dual win with pins from Trey Piotrowski (138), Drake Regenhardt (152) and Nick Fetzner (170). Hampshire got pins from Christian Rivero (120) and Palmer Larson (106), and a 5-1 decision from Casey Allen (160).

Crystal Lake Central 40, Jacobs 30: At Crystal Lake, the Tigers picked up the FVC dual win over the Golden Eagles. Earning wins for Central were Andrew Hopkins (113), Connor Burns (132), Caden Ernd (138), Brenden Parks (152), Frank Carone (160), Braden Bisram (182), Liam O'Donnell (195) and Wyatt Blake (285).
