CRYSTAL LAKE – No one was injured when a school bus and car collided Friday afternoon in a Crystal Lake intersection.

A juvenile was driving a four-door Chevrolet with two juvenile passengers about 3 p.m. Friday when he or she tried to turn south onto Walkup Road from westbound Dvorak Drive in Crystal Lake, McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said.

A school bus was traveling north on Walkup Road, and the two collided in the intersection when the juvenile pulled in front of the bus.

The school district the bus was from is unknown.

No students were on the bus, and it sustained only minor damage. The Chevy needed to be towed. No one in either vehicle was injured.

The Chevy’s driver was cited for failing to yield. Rogers declined to release the juveniles’ information because of their ages.
