High school boys basketball roundup: Toussaint scores school-record 52 for Johnsburg in win

Johnsburg point guard Zach Toussaint bested his own school record Tuesday night, scoring 52 points in Johnsburg’s 99-89 win over Wilmot in a game at Wilmot, Wisconsin.

Toussaint had previously set the Skyhawks single-game record with 41 points in a win over Grayslake North on Nov. 24.

On Tuesday, he rewrote the record book again with the 52-point performance, which included seven two-point field goals, eight 3-pointers and 14-of-17 free throws. He also added nine assists.

Mason Sobiesk scored 14 for the Skyhawks (3-3), and Brody Frazier added 12 points.

Marengo 77, Rockford Christian 73: At Marengo, Blaine Borhart scored 20 points for the Indians (5-2) in a nonconference victory. Matt Fischer scored 15. Marengo’s Alex Schirmer and Brock Bertrand each added 11 points.

Woodstock 65, Badger (Wisconsin) 63: At Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Evan Bridges tossed in 26 points to lead the Blue Streaks (2-3) to a nonconference victory. Bridges finished hitting 8 of 15 on 3s.

Mikey Gardner added 13 for the Streaks.

Rockford Lutheran 84, Marian Central 63: At Rockford, Jakub Baranski scored 16 points for Marian Central in a loss to Rockford Lutheran. A.J. Golembiewski added 15 points for Marian (3-2). Kevin Herbst and Jonny Preston each scored eight.
