Noteworthy

Looking better: Crystal Lake Central went winless in the FVC last season, but have already picked up two conference wins thus far. The Tigers beat Hampshire, 30-29, for their first FVC win of the season and then defeated Jacobs, 48-33, for their second straight.

Junior guard Maddie Haslow, who led the team in scoring with 10.8 points last season, scored 11 points with six rebounds against Hampshire and had a game-high 17 points and seven rebounds against Jacobs. Cori Hamill pitched in 14 points, seven rebounds and 10 steals in the win over Jacobs.

The Tigers two losses in conference play have come against Cary-Grove and McHenry, both contenders for the FVC title. Central, which is off to a 4-5 start, ended with only five wins last year.
