Letter: Pay attention to what's happening in America

To the Editor:

What in the world has happened to this country? Isn’t anyone paying attention to what is going on and being done?

We are step-by-step turning into a socialistic form of government with a dictator sitting in the Oval Office. Trump says “jump!” and Republicans ask, “how high?”

Are Americans so zoned out they are oblivious to what is going on or is it that they just don’t care?

With full backing of the White House and the RNC, that poor excuse for a president and many of those “god-fearing Republicans” in Alabama thought that an accused sexual predator was a better choice for the Senate than anyone else.

Trump got his tax bill passed, which is nothing more than a benefit program for corporations and the wealthy. This bill is reported to add more than $1 trillion to our national debt. To make up for this, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other benefit programs will be cut. Republicans have wanted to get rid of Social Security for the past 40 years and now they have opened the door to do so.

The Trump agenda is dangerous and getting worse. This man is not above the law, but he thinks he is.

The biggest threat to our national security is sitting in the Oval Office sending his stupid tweets and his constant incendiary rhetoric.

The only hope we have is to get out and vote.
