Letter: Township road programs have benefited all

To the Editor:

I have lived in Algonquin and Nunda townships since 1947. I certainly have seen a lot of changes, some good, some not so good.

I don’t think it’s fair to use Algonquin Township as a poster child for “all” townships.

I personally do not think eliminating townships would be the thing to do. Consolidation, maybe yes.

Our township, Nunda, has helped all of us with its road-repair program, its massive help to all of us during the major floods of 2013 and 2017, and its fast response to downed trees, etc., because of storms, etc.

I cannot foresee a county form of road repair helping the public, or matching up to what we have.

Our township roads are in better condition than some county roads. Sure hope everyone gives this some serious thought.
