Marengo power outage affects dozens of residents

City offers warming center in City Hall as temperatures hover in low teens

MARENGO – More than 70 Marengo residents experienced a power outage Friday morning as the wind chill in McHenry County hovered around

2 degrees.

The outage prompted the city to open City Hall as a warming center for the day for anyone without power and heat, according to a Nixle alert sent just before 8:40 a.m. by Marengo police.

The power outage affected 75 Marengo residents about 9 a.m. Friday, according to ComEd’s outage map.

The high for Friday was 15 degrees with a low of 3, according to the National Weather Service.
