HARVARD – A crash that blocked traffic near Route 14 and Oak Grove Road on Saturday sent five people to the hospital.

Police and fire officials responded about 10:15 a.m. to a report of a crash near the intersection of Route 14 and Oak Grove Road in Harvard.

The two-car collision resulted in three patients being taken to Mercy Hospital – Walworth, one person taken to Mercy Hospital – Harvard and one person flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital, Harvard fire officials said.

Drifting snow likely impacted driving conditions and played a factor in the crash. The two cars were headed in opposite directions when they collided, Harvard fire officials said. McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and wasn’t immediately available for comment Saturday.
