Letters to the Editor

Letter: Congress lacks legislative muscle

To the Editor:

As it stands, one-tenth of 1 percent of American households control
90 percent of the wealth in our country
.

It is easy to understand what a tantalizing challenge the acquisition of that remaining 10 percent represents.

Clearly, Congress understands, and is doing all that it can to enable the achievement of that goal.

But a question comes to mind, “Of what use will Congress be once all the wealth has been corralled?”

This is that same pesky Congress that, from time to time, tries to exercise its supposed legislative muscle. As submissive as Congress has been, it will probably agree to vote itself out of existence, and allow its benefactors to appoint a guardian for the rest of us.
