WOODSTOCK – McHenry County has earned two financial reporting awards.
The awards came from the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada for the county’s fiscal 2016 comprehensive annual financial report and popular annual financial report, according to a news release from the McHenry County Auditor’s Office.
The auditor’s office has received the certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting for the comprehensive annual financial report for the past 19 years.
The award is the highest form of recognition in the area for governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to the release.
The auditor’s office has received the popular annual financial report award for the past nine years.
“Earning these consecutive awards reflects the commitment by the auditor’s office to provide high-quality accounting and financial reporting to the citizens of McHenry County,” Auditor Pam Palmer said in the release.
The office staff compiles the report, with major work done by financial reporting manager Shannon Teresi and accountant Dodi Vainisi, Palmer said.
