High school boys basketball roundup: Marengo tops Genoa-Kingston behind 13 points from Wascher

Marengo’s Nick Wascher scored all 13 of his points in the first half as the Indians defeated Genoa-Kingston, 51-40, in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday.

Wascher, who came off the bench, did most of his scoring in 3-point increments, with a pair of 3-pointers along with a 3-point play.

Blaine Borhart and Alex Schirmer each scored 11 for the Indians (10-5). Alejandro Rodriguez added eight points and Matt Fischer had six assists.

Nate Nesler led G-K (6-10) with 19 points.
