CHICAGO – A man charged with livestreaming the torture of a mentally ill Crystal Lake teen now faces additional battery charges in connection with an attack on a Cook County Jail inmate.

Jordan Hill, 19, was charged with battery, a misdemeanor offense, after a fight at the jail, where he and two others attacked another inmate, representatives from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The attack happened Dec. 8, and the reported victim suffered minor injuries, police said.

Officials did not provide details about the attack.

Hill was one of four people charged last year in connection with the abuse of a Crystal Lake teen whose parents had reported him missing.

The four – Hill, Tesfaye Cooper and sisters Brittany and Tanishia Covington were indicted in February on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, as well as a pair of hate crimes.

The group is accused of torturing the teen for several hours – 30 minutes of which were streamed on Facebook Live – by slapping, cutting, beating and mocking him, prosecutors have said. During the video, the assailants cut the gagged victim’s scalp with a knife, punched him and forced him to drink from a toilet, footage showed.

Brittany Covington was sentenced to four years of probation after she pleaded guilty to a hate crime, aggravated battery and intimidation in December.
