Huntley senior Zach Spencer went 3-0 at 132 pounds to surpass 150 career varsity victories Saturday at the Stevenson Quad in Lincolnshire.
Spencer, who has 152 victories, had two pins and a major decision for the Red Raiders, who were 3-0 and improved to 19-3. Huntley beat Yorkville, 37-31, Deerfield, 53-20, and Stevenson, 35-29.
Sam Spencer was 3-0 with three pins at 113 pounds, Andrew Lira (120) was 3-0 with a pin, Gannon Kosowski (138) went 3-0 with two pins and a technical fall, and Juan Quiroz (170) went 3-0 with two technical falls and a major decision. Michael Jernigan (182) was 2-1 and had two pins for the Raiders.
Amboy Invitational: At Amboy, five wrestlers for Woodstock North claimed first place as the Thunder won the team title with 196.5 points. Jake Finch (132 pounds), Nicco Mazzanti (145), Ed Flores (152), Brian Kline (160) and Chris Flores (220) all took home titles.
Isaiah Vela (126) and Jack Foster (106) each placed second for the Thunder.
Sandburg Super Duals: At Orland Park, Crystal Lake Central lost its first dual to Oak Park-River Forest, 58-12, but ended with wins against Joliet West, 36-28, and Sandburg, 40-30.
Seamus O'Donnell (195 pounds) went 3-0 with three pins, Frank Carone (160) recorded two pins, Liam O'Donnell (182) had a pin and major decision, going 2-1, and Caden Ernd (132) had two decisions.
Dundee-Crown Quad: At Carpentersville, the Chargers finished 2-1 with wins against Lane Tech, 65-9, and Geneva, 42-33. D-C lost its final dual to Prospect. Isiah Ziegler (285 pounds) and Brandon Rico (138) each went 3-0 for the Chargers, while Colin Mays (145), Wyatt Griggel (170), Isaac Mayer (106) and Carter Fitch (220) picked up two wins apiece.
