RICHMOND – Celebrate the return of eagles to the Fox River Valley on Saturday.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, McHenry County Audubon Society, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Friends of the Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge will be present from
8 to 10 a.m. at numerous locations along the Fox River and Geneva Lake to help participants search for eagles Saturday.
Volunteers and wildlife staff will have spotting scopes and binoculars, and they can help identify birds seen in the areas near the McHenry, Algonquin and Carpentersville dams and at Fontana Beach on Geneva Lake in Wisconsin.
