High school gymnastics: Host Wolves win first gymnastics meet held at Prairie Ridge

Clancy Raupp and Maddy Kim took the top two all-around spots as the Prairie Ridge Co-op girls gymnastics team won its own six-team invitational with 148 points.

DeKalb Co-op was second with 144. The invitational was the first the Wolves ever hosted at Prairie Ridge. Wolves coach Lee Battaglia, who coaches the team at Crystal Lake Gymnastics Training Center, moved the equipment and floor from his gym to Prairie Ridge for the weekend. A club gymnastics meet will be there the rest of the weekend.

The team draws gymnasts from Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South and Prairie Ridge.

Raupp scored 38.0 and Kim scored 37.65 in the all-around. Ciara Ryan was fifth at 35.3.
Raupp won the vault (9.5) and the balance beam (9.45). Kim won the uneven bars (9.6) and was second in the floor exercise (9.65).

Ryan was second on the vault and Kira Karlblom was fourth on bars and third on floor.
