CARY – A Cary man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbing a convenience store at gunpoint in 2014.

Cordelle J. Miller, 28, of the 400 block of Crest Drive took a plea deal Friday and pleaded guilty to armed robbery, according to a news release from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

McHenry County Judge Robert Wilbrandt handed down Miller’s sentence, the release stated.

On March 6, 2014, Miller entered the 7-Eleven at 296 Cary-Algonquin Road, Cary.

The convenience store clerk told police that a man entered the store alone and asked to buy a pack of cigarettes. The man then removed a black handgun from his front pocket and demanded money from the cash register, according to a news release at the time.

Assistant State’s Attorney Victor Escarcida prosecuted the case.
