Letters to the Editor

Letter: A liberal takes a right hook to the jaw, and worse

To the Editor:

The Northwest Herald recently printed three letters to the editor on the same day that left me feeling like I had been hit with a right hook to the jaw, a punch in the stomach and a knee to the groin.

The right hook to the jaw was from the person who wrote, “I am pleased to see Ann Coulter included among the Herald’s columnists.”

Really? Ann Coulter, the Wicked Witch of the Western World, is known for being a political potty-mouth whose vitriolic verbal grenade throwing makes Rush Limbaugh seem mild-mannered. She is so insulting, no one should take her seriously.

The breathtaking sock to the stomach was from a man who wrote, “President Barack Obama is the most narcissistic president we have had.”

Really? The writer needs to stop watching the Fox channel and pay attention to other news sources.

The knee to the groin was delivered by a writer who said, “It must be nauseating to be one of the liberal/socialists who frequently submit letters to the editor.”

Really? President John F. Kennedy described liberalism this way: “If by a liberal they mean someone who cares about the welfare of the people – their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties – if that is what they mean by a liberal, then I’m proud to say I’m a liberal.”

Me, too, Mr. President.
