New Breakout program to address dating violence, substance abuse, discrimination
It’s time to have the tough conversations, say those at a Crystal Lake teen center.
Seeing a need for community resources regarding hard topics, such as dating violence, substance abuse, discrimination and suicide, the Break has started a Breakout program.
Every quarter, the center will host free open conversations on different topics, with separate events for adults and teens featuring resources and speakers.
Having already tackled mental health and suicide prevention, the Breakout’s next program – 7 p.m. Feb. 15 for adults and 7 p.m. Feb. 22 for teens at the Break, 6292 Route 14, Crystal Lake – will focus on dating violence.
