To the Editor:
The election is about two months away, and the Northwest Herald has reported nothing about the candidates or the available governing positions.
The Northwest Herald has not reported any upcoming town, township or county meetings. It has not surveyed its readership about what questions the reporters should ask the candidates.
No reporter has interviewed a political candidate.
There are debates occurring at McHenry County College and elsewhere. The Northwest Herald never informs its readers of any of these upcoming events.
It occasionally informs us afterward, with an article barely reporting to us the topics and candidates’ positions.
The traffic report belongs on the back page, not as a headline or front page news. Sports events such as the success of the Johnsburg High School football team or Crystal Lake High School basketball team belong in the sports section.
From what I have read, the stories are more public opinion than official statements and facts.
Please inform me and all of your readers where we can become well-informed voters for this important upcoming election.
