To the Editor:
Since Ann Coulter’s piece appeared in the Northwest Herald on Jan. 20, I have been trying to contact Ann. Her homepage provides me with ample opportunities to buy her books or read her articles or contact the links she provides.
But I can find no way to have a heart-to-heart conversation with her. So, I’m going to use this venue in an effort to reach her.
I have heard and read your opinions on multiple issues. It’s obvious that you do not support a Democratic platform; and, in fact, prefer to name call whenever given the chance –“Liberals,” with a sneer; “virtue signalers,” as a slur. I will own both labels.
I am quite sure you were dead wrong in the last paragraph of the piece that I am citing, “The Left’s Dirty Little Secret ...”
The Democrats ... know they don’t have to do anything to keep winning 90 percent of the black vote, so they’ve dedicated themselves to bringing in millions of Latin Americans who will vote for them ...
I suspect that millions of Latin Americans enter the U.S. for a variety of reasons, known to each person individually. My ancestors came for job opportunities, to join family, to escape war, famine and destruction. They were lured by advertisements or word of mouth. They came because they believed America was a land of opportunity and freedom. Immigrants may come now for the same reasons.
I’ll bet that neither Democrats nor Republicans have dedicated themselves to bringing in millions of Latin Americans who will vote for them.
So, Ann, as sly as I believe you are, this misstatement or hyperbole is one of your dirty little secrets.
