Coroner identifies Rockford woman killed in Marengo crash

MARENGO – The McHenry County coroner has identified a Rockford woman killed in a drunken-driving crash Saturday.

Ilian Gonzalez, 29, of Rockford died of blunt force trauma to the head, Coroner Anne Majewski said in a news release.

Gonzalez was a passenger in a Hyundai Velostar that was traveling west on Kishwaukee Valley Road about 7:25 p.m. Saturday when it ran off the road at South McKinstry Road and hit a tree, officials said.

Gonzalez died at 8:04 p.m. Saturday at the scene, Majewski said.

Jose Loredo, 30, of Rockford was driving, and he has been charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence and aggravated driving under the influence, police said. He had injures that were not life-threatening after the crash.

His bond is set at $80,000, and his next court appearance is Wednesday morning, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
