Letters to the Editor

Letter: Tsilimigras for judge

To the Editor:

Make the judge choice yours and not theirs.

Judicial candidate Demetri Tsilimigras has 20 years of public service in the legal field, 19 of them as assistant state’s attorney and assisted in the creation of the mental health court, drug court and domestic violence court.

When one is an incumbent in any office, that person has the political power of incumbency. Tsilimigras is running to bring a new perspective and outlook in contrast to the current politically appointed judge.

In addition to his broad legal expertise and civic involvement, Tsilimigras brings a level of honesty and judiciousness that is needed on the bench.

Tsilimigras also has promised to not receive a judicial pension, which will save taxpayers approximately $117,000 a year. Many of the retired judges literally are pension-millionaires.

Make the judge choice yours and not theirs. Please join me in choosing our next judge, Demetri Tsilimigras.
