HOLIDAY HILLS – A teenager who crashed her pickup truck into a Holiday Hills home about 4 a.m. Sunday was charged with driving under the influence, police said.
The 17-year-old girl was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane use, violation of a graduated driver’s license and driving under the influence, McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sandra Rogers said in an email.
The truck was traveling north on Vaupell Road, south of River Road, and crossed the southbound lane of traffic. It then exited the road to the west, struck a small tree and hit a house, Rogers said.
The front end of the truck appeared to have crashed through the side of a garage attached to the home.
