FOX RIVER GROVE – Nominated by the Fox River Grove Memorial Library based on her latest book, “Sweetest Heartbreak,” author Heather Bentley is a Top 3 Finalist in the Soon to be Famous Illinois Author contest.
In the statewide contest, coordinated by the Illinois Library Association and Reaching Across Illinois Library Systems, librarians judge self-published fiction by Illinois authors to select and promote a winner.
“Sweetest Heartbreak” and “Beautiful Lies,” Bentley’s first book, are available at the Fox River Grove Memorial Library and through Amazon.com. A description for “Sweetest Heartbreak” begins, “When naïve, humble, and beautiful meets arrogant, brash, and handsome, it can only lead to… Sweetest Heartbreak.”
“This is a story of what happens when friendships are tested, words go unspoken, and hearts are broken,” the description states. “And how three friends all manage to find their way back to each other.”
Authors must be nominated by an Illinois library, and sponsored work must be written in the adult fiction genre. Bentley’s book was chosen as a finalist among 46 entries throughout the state. A winner will be announced at 1 p.m. April 26 at Fountaindale Public Library.
