Huntley wrestling coach B.J. Bertelsman was named the Class 3A Coach of the Year Sunday by the Illinois Wrestling Coaching and Officials Association.
Bertelsman, in his seventh season coaching the Red Raiders, led Huntley to the first state trophy in the program's 18-year history with a fourth-place finish at the IHSA Class 3A dual-team state meet.
Bertelsman helped Huntley to a 24-5 record overall, including a 35-31 win over Glenbard North in the state quarterfinals.
Additionally, Huntley set a program record by sending seven qualifiers to the Class 3A individual state meet.
