To the Editor:
Losing hope. Losing hope in our government. Losing hope in our security. Losing hope in our clergy. Losing hope in our neighborhoods. Losing hope in ourselves. Having no hope is a terrible existence. And, we are headed as a country in that direction.
Knowing the truth brings hope. However, left on our own to find the truth is impossible.
There are so many lies presented as truth to us for someone else's personal gain. Some say they want to help us, but, in reality, they only want our vote. Their thinking is that if we remain a victim we need them.
To prove this, all we have to do is look at the deterioration of cities like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and San Francisco over the last forty years. In fact, the states of California and Illinois are financially in a mess because of leaders spreading the lies of entitlements. It gets worse with sanctuary cities protecting criminals rather than citizens.
Planned Parenthood taking the lives of innocent life because of convenience. Black Lives Matter being invited to the White House. A former president wanting rights for terrorists and providing our enemies with our war strategies.
Unbelievable, yet, we are told it's the right thing to do and we believe the lies!
Worse than that, even some of our clergy, who supposedly know the truth, distort the truth and lie to their congregations so that everyone feels good. A parade can be a lie, too.
Perhaps we are looking for hope in all the wrong places? A former president suggested to the world that, "we are not a Christian nation." Let's prove him wrong and show that we follow the One who gives us hope!
"In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began" Titus 1: 2. Let's open our Bibles, shall we?
