A new Pilates studio will host a grand opening Thursday in downtown Crystal Lake.
Pilates Body by Kirsten previously operated at 30 N. Williams St. and began moving in August to a 3,400-square-foot space at 39 N. Williams St.
The studio has expanded its massage therapy services and now has a retail area in the store.
“With two of our sporting goods stores closing in Crystal Lake, it’s hard to get fun, fashionable gym clothes now,” owner Kirsten Karblom said.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday and feature discounted group classes, massage packages, Aveda raffles and 15 percent off retail items.
“It is becoming a one-stop shop, where people can do yoga, get sports apparel and pick up a few Aveda products, as well,” Karblom said.
The space previously was occupied by Taste of Benedict’s, which moved into an adjacent space. The expansion includes a yoga studio with a waiting room and two rooms for massage therapy.
New class offerings include hot yoga, hot stretch classes, heated melting class and Bodhi classes in the basement studio for large group classes.
