Cary police to reward children for wearing helmets while riding bikes

Program will begin June 1

In partnership with Pediatric Associates of Barrington, Kojak’s, Breaking Bread, Country Donuts and Culver’s, the Cary Police Department will begin an incentive program Friday to encourage children to wear a helmet while riding their bike, scooter or roller skates/blades.

Patrol officers will issue vouchers for the aforementioned restaurants to children ages 13 and younger who they see wearing their helmets and other protective gear this summer.
