The Community School District 300 Board recently voted to move to IHSA for lacrosse in the 2018-19 school year, in line with what the other Fox Valley Conference schools are doing.
D-300 will have boys teams at Dundee-Crown, Hampshire and Jacobs and also will field a girls co-op team with the three high schools.
The IHSA made lacrosse an official sport for the 2017-18 school year, but locally only Huntley and Marian Central went to IHSA. Community High School District 155 voted for its schools (Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South and Prairie Ridge) to become IHSA for lacrosse in 2018-19.
The remaining FVC schools had decided to take the path of the D-155 schools so the conference could remain intact. The D-300 schools are in.
The McHenry High School District 156 Board has not yet voted on it, but McHenry athletic director Barry Burmeister said the logistics are being worked out.
