College baseball: 3 Scots earn NJCAA D-II All-American honors

Three McHenry County College baseball players earned NJCAA Division II All-America honors Monday.

Infielder Alex Cimaroli earned second-team All-America honors, while catcher Ryan Parquette and pitcher Ryan Anderson each earned third-team honors.

Cimaroli, a sophomore from Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, hit .400 with 65 RBIs and an MCC-record 27 doubles. Parquette, a freshman from Crystal Lake South, hit .430 with nine home runs, 66 RBIs and a school-record 85 runs scored. Anderson, a sophomore Palatine grad, went 10-2 with a 2.11 ERA this season.

The Scots finished 44-14, their fourth consecutive 40-win season. MCC fell two wins short of a Region IV title, which would have qualified the team for the NJCAA Division II World Series.
