Compassionate Dental Care in Lake in the Hills will hold a grand opening and community festival later this month.
The event will be at 3 p.m. June 28 at its new location, 261 Randall Road, Suite 101.
Jim Wojdyla, director of business development for Compassionate Dental Care, said the event corresponds with National Smile Day and National Dental Care Month, which are important for dentists to recognize.
“It’s super important to kind of put it out there to celebrate nationally, for dentists to have some sort of thing that they can build promotions around to really build awareness,” Wojdyla said.
Wojdyla said the event will announce that the office is part of the village of Lake in the Hills and Crystal Lake Chambers of Commerce and show that the business is invested in the community.
Compassionate Dental Care owner Tim Stirneman chose the location for the business, which also encompasses Brand New Smile and Sleep Better Illinois.
The office previously was in Algonquin Commons.
Stirneman did all of the demolition to the former video rental store himself, and he said he wanted to make the building more cost-effective.
He brought down the ceiling, put in new floors and added 10,000 feet of cable for 50-inch TVs.
X-rays can be shown on the TVs, and a real-time camera hooked up to them will show what is happening inside a patient’s mouth.
The office also has 20 treatment rooms.
Wojdyla said he hopes clients won’t dread coming to the dentist when they visit Compassionate Dental Care.
“Our general objective is understanding that 90 percent of the people don’t want to be here, they have to be here. What we’re trying to do is change that perspective,” Wojdyla said. “After you come here a couple times, you’re actually going to look forward to it. This isn’t something that you’re going to dread.”
