Documents: Robert Hanlon's $45,000 charges to Algonquin Township Highway Department

Attorney fees inside the Algonquin Township Highway Department are on pace to push Highway Commissioner Andrew Gasser over his $150,000 legal budget.

The bulk of those bills – and the heart of Algonquin Township officials' concerns – have come from the office of $400-an-hour Woodstock attorney Robert Hanlon, who billed the department more than $276,000 last fiscal year and already has billed more than $107,000 this year, according to billing records.

Hanlon's latest bills arrived at the highway department on June 7: A total of $45,380 for work on two lawsuits spanning May 5 to June 6.
