The Woodstock School District 200 Board recognized the winners of the Spring Art Show during its meeting Tuesday.
Hundreds of pieces of student artwork selected by art teachers from the district’s 12 schools were on display from April 23 to May 8 at the Woodstock Public Library. Art teachers then selected one piece from each school as a winner. Each piece was bought for a nominal fee and will be displayed permanently in the students’ schools.
Superintendent Mike Moan also selected one piece from the winners that will be displayed in the District 200 Administrative Services Center.
The winners are junior Sam Bockmann, Clay Academy; seventh-grader Melany Cervantes, Creekside Middle School; seventh-grader Johanna Freeman, Northwood Middle School; second-grader Alexis Johnson, Mary Endres Elementary School; fourth-grader Jordan Lickfelt, Olson Elementary School; fifth-grader Sophia Mendoza, Westwood Elementary School; first-grader Paige Montanye, Prairiewood Elementary School; junior Nathan Ryan, Woodstock North High School; junior Madeline Scolio, Woodstock High School; fourth-grader Leticia Vital, Dean Street Elementary School; fourth-grader Emma Warner, Prairiewood Elementary School (superintendent’s award); and fourth-grader Caiden Young, Greenwood Elementary School.
