The Crystal Lake Park District is hosting its annual Beach Bash on Saturday.
The free event will start at 9 a.m. at Crystal Lake Main Beach, 300 Lakeshore Drive. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. for the playground, which was remodeled and finished in May.
Half-priced boat rentals and raffle drawings will take place throughout the day. Starting at 11 a.m., there will be live music from Island Music Trio and food available from vendors such as Family Affair, Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant, Kona Ice and Julie Ann’s Frozen Custard.
Glowby the Bubbler will perform from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and other free events will take place across the beach. Hello Weekend will perform from 5 to 7 p.m.
Park district manager Kim Buscemi said she wants people who come to the event to enjoy the activities and have a “fabulous, fun time.”
“Saturday is supposed to be a beautiful day,” Buscemi said. “We just want people to come out all day Saturday to enjoy the entire beach, and that’s why there’s activities that will be spread out throughout the entire beach, so people can kind of take it in.”
