To the Editor:
I am very happy both personally and professionally about the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which Peter Roskam was instrumental in creating and passing. We have owned and operated a family business in the state of Illinois since 1978.
We currently providing 140 full-time jobs with benefits in our community. Our business model has always been to invest in our staff to the best of our financial ability. We know that we are only as good as the people who work for us.
We also give back to our community financially when possible. During the last years, our state and our business has struggled tremendously. I feared for what was going to happen to a business that provided a livelihood for so many people. The tax reforms and economy have helped us get back the thriving business we have sacrificed and worked hard for.
Now everyone in our business wins. We are so grateful to Roskam and everyone involved in passing of the Tax Reform Bill. This state must wake up and pay attention to its small business community.
We love Illinois and hate to see how many people and businesses are leaving to create better opportunities for themselves. We need legislation that will listen to our struggles and realize we need successful people and business to fuel our state and create jobs.
