Crystal Lake-based School District 155 will field a co-op girls lacrosse team for spring 2019 that will take players from Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South and Prairie Ridge.
The team will play as Crystal Lake Central co-op and will be coached by Central graduate Joe Capalbo.
Summer camps for players will start July 9. Camps for players entering sixth through eighth grades will go from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday until July 19 at a cost of $60. Those in grades 10 through 12 will go from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday until July 26 at a cost of $110.
Registration for the camp ends Sunday. Those interested can register online at il.8to18.com/CLC and click on the camp registration link. The camps will work on fundamentals of offense, defense, stick work and have scrimmages from three on three to seven on seven.
All Fox Valley Conference schools will offer lacrosse as an IHSA sport next year for boys and girls, with some of the girls teams working as co-ops.
