Motorcyclist lays down bike in Route 120 gravel, police say

A woman riding her motorcycle on Route 120 had to lay down her bike after encountering some gravel in the road, according to authorities.

At 1:53 p.m., about a quarter mile west of Lily Lake Road, the motorcyclist took her motorcycle to its side to avoid crashing it, McHenry Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Mike Majercik said.

“She got some gravel,” Majercik said. “She was sitting up talking when we got there.”

The woman suffered minor road rash. She was not taken to the hospital, Majercik said.

It is not known at this time if the woman was cited. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
