High school lacrosse: McHenry approves move to IHSA competition

Following in the footsteps of its fellow Fox Valley Conference members, McHenry School District 156 approved the move to IHSA competition for boys varsity, boys JV and girls varsity lacrosse beginning in the 2018-2019 school year during Monday's school board meeting.

The IHSA made lacrosse an official sport for the 2017-18 school year, but locally only Huntley and Marian Central joined IHSA competition.

Community High School District 155 (Cary-Grove, Crystal Lake Central, Crystal Lake South and Prairie Ridge) and Community School District 300 (Dundee-Crown, Hampshire and Jacobs) had already voted to become IHSA for lacrosse in 2018-19.
