A resurfacing project will temporarily close part of Route 23 near Marengo, according to a notice from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The resurfacing will take place on Route 23, between Interstate 90 and Route 14 in Marengo. Traffic on Route 23 will be reduced to a single lane starting Monday, weather permitting, according to the notice.
The project is expected to be complete by next July. Drivers should expect delays and allow for extra time to drive through the area, according to IDOT.
People also should pay close attention to flaggers, be on alert for workers and equipment and obey posted speed limits, the notice stated.
