Letter: President is not a bird of that feather

To the Editor:

I am not sure what criteria the Northwest Herald uses in selecting the political cartoons it publishes, but I might suggest you revisit it. I appreciate that you choose cartoons that illustrate different political viewpoints.

However, the cartoon published in the Aug. 11 paper was extreme and irresponsible. The cartoon titled "Birds of a Feather" depicted President Trump as one of four vultures that included Hitler, Stalin and Mao Zedung. Including the President with a group of mass murderers who were responsible for the deaths of millions does not show very good judgement on the part of your editorial staff.

It is expected to publish cartoons critical of public figures, but equating the President with genocidal maniacs is hateful. No matter what your feelings are toward the President, he is not a mass murderer.
