Crystal Lake South sophomore Will Stewart earned medalist honors Saturday at the Huntley Boys Golf Invitational with a 2-under-par 70 at Blackstone as the Gators won their third consecutive tournament title.
All four Gators golfers earned medals by placing in the top 10. Casey Hunter was second with a 72, John Lishchynsky (74) finished sixth, and Ricky Falbo (74) placed eighth. South finished with a team score of 290, followed by Mundelein (308) and Jacobs (309).
Also finishing among the top 10 individuals were Jacobs' Garrett Tighe (third, 72), Crystal Lake Central's Eric Klutke (fourth, 74), Jacobs' Andrew Rechtsteiner (seventh, 74) and Dundee-Crown's Matt McQuillen (ninth, 76).
Huntley finished fourth with a 324, Central (332) took fifth, Hampshire (339) was seventh, and D-C (343) was ninth. Mark Spitzer led the Whip-Purs with a 77, and Jack Wagner led the Red Raiders with a 79.
St. Patrick Invitational: At McHenry Country Club, McHenry's Truman Keppy and James Gordon and Marian Central's Andrew Lydon each shot an 8-over-par 80, sharing medalist honors in the four-team meet.
McHenry won with a 333, followed by Cary-Grove (342), Marian Central (345) and St. Patrick (357). Marian Central's Brogan Pivnicka (84) and C-G's Joey Vitullo (84) tied for fifth, C-G's Trevor Brandon (85) was seventh, McHenry's Spencer Rudd (86) and C-G's Patrick Tobin tied for eighth, and McHenry's Liam Nielsen (87) and C-G's Michael Greenhill (87) tied for 10th.
Hersey Invitational: At Arlington Lakes in Arlington Heights, Molly Baker paced Huntley with an 89 on the par-68 course. The Raiders finished with a team total of 379, with Nina Shaffer (96), Taylor Stephenson (96) and Allison Boroski (98) also scoring.
Thursday's late result
Huntley Invitational: On Thursday at Blackstone in Marengo, Crystal Lake Central co-op's Kat Bevill shot a 1-over-par 37 to lead the Tigers to the team title at the 10-team meet. Central co-op won with a 170. Geneva was second with a 174 and Batavia (186) was third.
Central co-op's Molly Lyne took second overall with a 39, and teammate Renata Petersen (41) was fifth. For Huntley, Katie Matustik (43) tied for eighth, and Shaffer (47) placed 13th.
Huntley (188) was fourth as a team, and Dundee-Crown (272) was 10th.
